Group 4 Project by IBDP Year 2 Students

Recently, the class of IBDP Year 2 has showcased a presentation on IB mandatory criteria called Group 4 project. Group 4 project is a collaborative work carried out by the students of science subjects which include physics, chemistry, biology, and ESS.

The goal of the group 4 project is to solve a specific problem involving all scientific criteria. We, the class of 2023, decided to address a problem involving the school cafeteria. The objective of the project was to improve food, nutrition, and energy system of the cafeteria. The topic was selected after we discovered that our school’s food systems are inefficient or do not produce their best results. As a result, we analyzed various solution for the issue to be resolved.

During, the planning process we experienced major setbacks due to lack of understanding on the overall concept of group 4 project. We couldn’t decide the agendas appropriately to the group 4 criteria. Despite the setbacks, we continued our journey through the use of critical thinking and collaborative skills. The planning process took overall of 2 hours, at last we decided the issue to revolved around school cafeteria.

Finally, we concluded with a fruitful result, as we discovered potential solutions for the school cafeteria. Overall, we have had diverse experiences as a result of several experiments, and we have also developed our collaborative and communication skills as a result of communicating with our classmates as we worked to develop a meaningful ending with a solid experiment result. The project also depicts the long-term effects of the school cafeteria, as most of the science subjects that handled this group 4 project forecast future outcomes and produced results that would aid in the development of a better environment in the cafeteria. In conclusion, the upcoming batch will have a clear plan to follow for their future presentation.

This will be the first semester final in DP 1 so it will definitely be a new experience for the students of Year 11. This examination is not to be taken lightly, it is crucial for our university applications. Thankfully there are ways to increase our chances of scoring successfully. Revision: This is a pretty straightforward and obvious response, but it is the most effective. This exam will cover 3 months worth of information and there is no way anyone remembered all that. It should be a priority to go over the topics from each subject.  Revision can be done in many different ways, the most effective approach instead of just reading old notes and cramming all that, take new notes. This time we won't have the rush of following the lecture and taking notes. This way we can take important notes and know what to focus on.  Past Papers: As we were info...
